How to use the Fence Calculator
Convert a fence length or rectangular perimeter into the number of full fence sections and posts required for planning and pricing.
How the calculation works
PlanCalq divides the total fence run by the length of one section and rounds up to a whole panel or section.
Posts are then derived from the section count, with an additional end post for a continuous run. The selected allowance can be used for extra sections or site uncertainty.

Why are there usually more posts than panels?
A continuous run generally needs a post at each end of every sequence of panels, so a straight run commonly has one more post than sections.
Are gate posts included?
Not automatically. Gate openings and stronger gate posts should be planned separately.
Can I use a saved room as a fence enclosure?
Yes. A saved rectangular space can provide length and width when those dimensions represent the enclosure you want to fence.
