What to enter
- Enter patio dimensions or reuse a saved outdoor space.
- Enter the face dimensions of one paver.
- Choose a waste allowance and enter how many pavers come in a pack or pallet.
- Optionally add base depth and material price.
Estimate pavers, waste, packs, base material and project cost.
Enter the patio dimensions and paver size to estimate pieces, waste, packs and optional cost.
Includes your selected waste allowance.
Rectangular running patterns can often use a modest waste allowance. Diagonal, curved or intricate layouts may need more material. Base depth is shown only as a quantity-planning estimate; follow the installation specification for your site.
—
Estimate individual pavers and full packs for a rectangular patio or path, with waste, cost and an optional base-material volume.
The project area is divided by the face area of one paver to estimate the base unit count. Waste is added for cuts, breakage and pattern layout.
The recommended count is rounded into full packs. If a base depth is entered, PlanCalq also calculates the approximate compacted base volume across the patio area.
Patio area ÷ paver face area = pavers requiredRequired pavers × (1 + waste %) = recommended paversPatio area × base depth = approximate base volumeStraight rectangular layouts need less waste than diagonal patterns, borders, curves or projects with many cuts.
It is a planning volume from area × depth. Actual loose material ordered may need adjustment for compaction and supplier density.
You can estimate paver quantity, but the base design and paver specification for vehicle loads should be verified separately.
